Book tip

I started cutting up an old worn out shirt the other day. I was trying to make it into a skirt after getting inspiration from a remake. But it didn’t turn out the way I thought… A bit  tight across the stomach, right now at least. One who knows that you can make a lot of nice things out of an old shirt is Anna Hörling who wrote the book below. I’m full of inspiration but don’t have any worn out shirts ready to be remade at the moment.

Kolla bara in Anna Hörlings bok “Sy nytt av gamla skjortor”.

Still waiting…

I’m in the waiting vacuum.

To not go crazy of longing for what is to come (a baby!!) I try to keep busy with little things. Like making a necklace with some, fabric, lace and buttons.

Befinner mig i väntans vakuum.

T-shirt remake

I found this brilliant way of remaking an old T-shirt to a bag!

Don`t know where to store all your eyewear? Fröken Retro gives great inspiration! She hangs hers on a hanger (bought second hand of course!).

Add some stitches…

Some embroidery at the neck gives life to an otherwise mainstream t-shirt.

Skirt and earrings are second hand. T-shirt in organic cotton from H&M.

Ett litet korsstygns broderi i nacken ger lite mer personlighet

till en annars vanlig t-shirt.

Rainy friday project…

This afternoon was spent inside remaking a baby cardigan. It was a little pale before, but with new buttons and a embroidered heart it became quite nice I think! The embroidery book is from grandma and the buttons second hand.

Sunshine please stay

This top was one of many bargains from Estonia and Riga, and in this warm weather it’s perfect! The jeans shorts were my sisters old jeans and when they got too worn out I simply cut them off to a pair of shorts instead, and I love them. I bought the top bracelet at a flea market in Amsterdam and the other one is fairtrade, bought in Camden town, London.

recommendation

Something I really can recommend is buying a sewing machine. You might think “Hey, I can’t afford that”, but it doesn’t have to be that expensive. I bought mine second hand for £50 and I got a year long guarantee. You don’t even have to be super skilled to use a sewing machine, you can do loads by just sewing straight, for example fix clothes with holes in or just add lace to a t shirt like I did here.

But if you would like to learn how to make more advanced things, well then there are loads of courses, just google and I’m sure you will find something.

One piece many outfits

I found a new way to wear this skirt. By pulling it up and adding a belt I have myself a tubedress aswell!

A perfect summer dress!
